Cycle Syncing Part 1: Menstrual Phase

I’ve always had an interest in nutrition and wellness, so when I discovered cycle syncing from Nicole Bendayan, I was intrigued.

I had no idea that what I ate affected and even how I exercised is influenced by my cycle!

So for the past few months I’ve been trying to be more intentional with the way I eat and my workouts. Today is Day 3, so the Menstrual Phase is coming to an end for me.

Here’s what I’ve been eating the past two days:

For breakfast I’ve been eating a sausage, spinach, onion, and mushroom omelette and (baked) blueberry French toast.

I’m not a morning tea drinker, so I brew this raspberry leaf tea with my coffee, and then I add Coffee Over Cardio’s Blueberry Donut Hydrate and Dreamy Hot Fudge Creamer. The Hydrate is great to add to your coffee if you feel like you don’t drink enough water, and the Creamer includes MCT Oil— which I find really helps me focus throughout the day.

For lunch I made wild rice, chicken, and kidney beans. I also brew Yogi Tea’s Green Tea Blueberry Slim Life and Rose Hibiscus Detox teas together. The blueberry green tea kind of tastes like black tea when sweetened (I sweeten with raw honey) and chilled.
Dinner's pretty light: an almond butter and fig preserves sandwich. To drink I’ve been mixing Watermelon Bai (antioxidants) and watermelon kombucha (probiotics) together.

As for exercise, I’ve been doing Blogilates workouts for the past four years now. Since I’ve discovered cycle syncing, I’ve tailored my workouts to sync with each phase.
Stay tuned for part 2!

Valentine’s Day French Toast: Another random recipe!

If you read my Pumpkin Spice French Toast recipe from Halloween, you know that this is going to be another random idea that I came up with (maybe one day I’ll plan these).  Today’s recipe features the berry flavored nutrition powder from Orgain. It’s full of probiotics and superfoods, and you can order it here  and use code ‘ gorjessnfit ’ for 30% off your first order. Other ingredients include: All of these are mixed together in a bowl, and then I take a slice of whole grain bread and soak it in the mixture for about a minute before putting it in the oven to broil at 525 degrees (Fahrenheit). The strawberries were on top of the toast when broiled, and the bananas were added afterwards. * Affiliate Disclosure * This post contains a link and I may earn a commission (at no extra cost to you) if you choose to purchase a product through the link.

Better Butters?

Not only is it loaded with vitamin A, C, and E but it helps protect your hair and skin from UV rays. ·         Shea Butter : This is probably one of the most popular butters for natural hair. Its many benefits include: highly moisturizing, acts as a natural sunscreen, reduces skin inflammation, r...
Rose Hair Clay Mask Rose clay is very mild and gentle enough for dry skin. Also known as pink Kaolin clay, it’s color comes from the iron oxides in the clay.  This clay draws out toxins and impurities in the skin and hair. For my hair, I mix it with apple cider vinegar and essential oils (clary sage, rosemary, tea tree, and peppermint). I leave it on my hair for about 20 minutes and then rinse it off.
